Today was probably my last fall photo shoot before the snow flies this year.  I think we caught the fall leaves just before they all fell to the ground.  We headed to a spot very special to this family who spent many summers out there.  The “boys”, truth be told are more men then boys, but really, to this mom they are her boys.  This shoot probably had to be one of my favorite to do.  The “boys”, clearly their mom’s apple of her eye, and dad’s pride and joy are really nice young men.  I can’t express how awesome it is to see a family so connected to each other and how nice it is that boys past their childhood come out for photos.

As I sat here editing the images, I kept reflecting on my family.  As the mother of a boy, I think I caught a glimpse into my family a few years in the future.  My son is almost three, and these “boys” are men, but I constantly had flashes ahead to when my son’s a young man, and hope that we will be as connected as this foursome are to each other.  I hope this is us when my boy is a young man.
At the end of the session I chased the boys away to do a few images of their parents, clearly still very much in love after many years together.  How awesome to see that !  I’m partial to the images of them too, again…. hoping this will be me and my husband down the road.
Enough rambling… here are the images…. I sincerely hope we’ve accomplished what you guys were hoping for !

We sure lucked out on weather for today’s family session !  I had a beautiful family of three, at my favorite time of day- nearing sunset.  The little man was such a sweetie- and so generous with his smiles !  I’ll answer two quick questions I know you will have once you see these pics.  1) yes, the fall colours really were that magical and  2) yes, this little man really is THAT absolutely adorably cute !  (ohh those blue eyes !!!)
Enjoy the preview !

My handsome husband doesn’t generally want to pose for photos… but I caught him outside reading and relaxing while our boy played in the sprinkler.  I captured this image, that really shows how handsome he is.  But don’t tell him I’m bragging about him… it might go to his head, making him more difficult to photograph in the future..haha  🙂

While in Calgary I was invited out to this family’s home for the photo shoot.  They live a bit out of town on a beautiful golf course with sweeping views.  The weather was beautiful on the day of our shoot- but sometimes the bright sun works against a photographer, so the best view wasn’t able to be captured as well as we would have liked.  But you work with what you’ve got, and I think we managed to capture some nice images of this very sweet family.  I hope you enjoy your photo preview !
sweet sweet little boys
Such a nice family
the littlest guy had the BEST smile here, so what better way to highlight it, and show how small and sweet he is?
 Brotherly love

The previously blogged session includes teens from this session.
I’m happy to share shots of these two wonderful boys and their mom.
This session is one that is really close to my heart.
While editing some of the images, I was really moved by the tenderness and love that can be seen between the boys and their mom.  I can only hope that my boy feels the same way about me when he’s a teen.
I have known this mom for many years.  We survived working for the same boss many years ago, survived learn to run courses, and always stayed in touch.  I have had the pleasure of being friends with this incredible woman as she travels down life’s road with grace, strength, and beauty while being an inspiration for others in how she conducts herself.  I am so pleased to see her thriving, looking so good, and being a wonderful inspiration to those around her, including me.  I’ve always known she was a one of a kind person, and have always treasured her friendship, so it gives me a lot of satisfaction to have been chosen by her to capture some of her family images.  I hope you enjoy the images.

These images are from the last family session I posted.  I thought they deserved their own blog post because they were so cute.  The two older boys were just goofing around, and I was able to capture these fun images.

I’ll title the series of shots….
Spontaneous Kiss-Fest
🙂

One of the things I always say I want to capture is emotion.  I love being able to shoot the un-posed fun moments that kids sometimes just give you.  This has been one of the
B  E  S  T
set of images I think I’ve been able to capture.  Definitely personal favorites for me !

This beautiful mommy manages 4 adorable kids.  Two older boys and twins- one boy and one girl.
They were sooo much fun to shoot.  I was a bit nervous with four little ones to capture, but we had a great time.  I spent a large part of the session running around them as they played snapping.  Before the running, we did sit down for a few shots so we could try to capture everyone together.

Adorable kids, super nice parents and a beautiful Kamloops evening made for some fun images.  In my next post I’m dedicating it to an adorable set of photos of the older boys.

I hope you enjoy your preview !

These images are ones that my family will treasure.  My son, who you’ve seen on the blog from time to time had the special opportunity to have both sets of grandparents in one city at the same time- which never happens.
We live in Kamloops- my parents live in Calgary, and my in laws live in England- so needless to say, having 4 grandparents was total and utter   B  L  I  S  S  for my little guy.

I know that these are photos he will treasure for the rest of his life.  We did this shoot in Calgary.
